John Tesh

In a remarkably successful career that now spans more than 25 years, Tesh is known worldwide as a leading and respected figure in the entertainment and broadcasting industries. Music has always been John Tesh’s main passion. In 1996, after 10 years as co-host of Entertainment Tonight, he surprised many by leaving the highly visible (and highly lucrative) position to pursue his career as a fulltime musician.

As many of you know, John Tesh wrote the original “NBA on NBC” Theme song, titled “Roundball Rock,” which was used for the NBA on NBC from 1991-2002. NBC played the song 12,000 times during their run. When ABC took over broadcasting rights for the NBA, they chose to compose their own theme music instead. This song was also sampled by Nelly for his song "Heart of a Champion" from his album, Sweatsuit.
